rejected

every once in a while i give blood. i haven't given in more than a year. it was nov 2006, i just got back from malaysia, while i was getting my first aid cpr certification. i was such a good kid then.

today there was a blood drive in the cafeteria and thought, since i'm not skiing for the rest of the season (in fact i haven't skied this season) i don't really need all my red blood cells.

i filled out the form and was rejected at the screening point. they asked me to list the places i've been in the last year. turkey, amsterdam, oaxaca, calgary, bermuda, d.r., haiti... stop right there. haiti's a malaria risk -- all of it. so no donating blood until april.

at least i tried.
