east coast to west coast

ok, ive spent the last two days on the east side of sicily, in catania. it is pretty interesting. but now i have to decide how to get to the west. i can either hug the northern coast, the southern coast or go straight through.

and you get to decide which direction

you have until i wake up tomorrow morning.

it would've helped if you provided a map! but anyway, the quickest way from point a to point b is a straight line, so i would cut across. but i take it you're not in a hurry. northern coast has major cities like taormina and palermo, so is more touristy. but feedback from nytimes travel says southern side is also good: "I do suggest to visit the southern east of Sicily: the baroque side of the island. In particular the town of Scicli, which has been added recently to the Unesco's world heritage list. One of the thousand most beautiful city of the world, according to Elio Vittorini, a famous italian writer." i'm sure either way would work out nicely for you. have fun!
